About Rachel Engelhart, MA, RDN

REalizing my passion for nutrition and the need to address the underlying emotional issues that impact our relationship with food, I chose to pursue a Master of Arts in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness from New York University to complement my Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from the University of Maryland, College Park. I have worked in hospitals in New York and Washington DC caring for individuals with a variety of medical conditions from diabetes and obesity to cancer and celiac disease, among others. As an outpatient dietitian in a Children’s Hospital, I work with children and adolescents struggling with weight management and those with Eating Disorders ranging from Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder and Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID).

Having lived abroad in Africa and traveling the globe to Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and South America, I feel equipped to help families of varying cultures, religions, and traditions meet their nutritional needs.

As the proud mother of an infant and toddler, balancing the demands of professional and familial responsibilities, I understand the realities and challenges of nourishing a family.
